WNCFHG has lots going on.
We meet from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
on the second Saturday of the month,
February thru November,
at the Historic Johnson Farm in Hendersonville, NC.
Visitors are welcome. 2018 schedule below.
The Western North Carolina Fibers/ Handweavers Guild, Inc. was organized in 1974, and incorporated in 1976. It was founded to promote and encourage participation in and appreciation of fine craftsmanship as related to textile arts. Our current members live in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, and represent a wide range of fiber interests: weaving, spinning, dyeing, felting, crocheting, knitting, rug hooking and basketry, as well as fiber production and animal husbandry.
In addition to our monthly meetings, we sponsor study groups, workshops, the Blue Ridge Fiber show and offer scholarships to our members for fiber related classes. We publish a monthly newsletter and we promote exhibit opportunities and avenues for community service. We have an extensive library and members have the opportunity to check out books prior to and after meetings. Most importantly, the Guild offers the perfect venue in which to share our successes and make new friends who share an interest in fiber arts.
